Major tasks of the VIMI
- Supplying with a complex analytical information in interests of forming the scientifically-technical and
industrial policy, for management of its realization, for development of science, technics, technology
- Complex working out target projects for development of defensive-industrial systems and their
scientifically-technical, normative-legal and information support
- System substantiation and definition of priorities of target programs for development the defensive-industrial
complex in interests of realization of the state defense order
- Working out and upgrading the scientifically-methodical documentation and normative-legal bases for accommodation
of tasks of the state defense order, and also gathering, processing, analyzing and examinating the applications,
submitted for competitive selection of projects of research and development, which are carried out within the limits
of the federal (target, state) programs, providing the tasks under the state defense order
- Development and technical and economic estimation and examination of target programs and projects for
reception by the enterprises of licenses for industrial recycling the arms and military technics
- Examination of the researches and developments (R&Ds), applying for budgetary financing
- State registration and account of the R&Ds, which are carried out in the defensive-industrial complex
- Maintenance of functioning and development of system of the interindustry exchange by scientific and
technical achievements
- Research of problems of production diversification, creation of commodity distribution network for
new civil production
- Organizing and carrying out exhibitions, conferences, seminars in Russia and abroad
